Christmas
Eve Traditions

As Christmas approaches
try starting this Christmas Eve tradition with your family. Before it is
time to send the children to bed, gather the family around the Christmas
tree and pull out a King James version of the Bible and open it to the
Christmas Story from the Gospel of Luke. Explain to your family how easy
it is to get "lost" in all the commercialization of Christmas
time and forget that Christmas is about celebrating the birth of a very
special baby whose name was Jesus. Read the Christmas Story and then
together sing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus. By performing this
tradition every year you will be establishing a tradition in your
children that will likely outlive you and will bless your grandchildren
and great-grandchildren. (12/19/1999)
